Balkan Fashion Week 2017, Day 4
The 4th day of Balkan Fashion Week surprised me pleasantly. My friend, Tania Mazzoleni, prepared a very interesting workshop on ”Fashion Buying”. Tania is the daughter of an Italian painter and illustrator and today she became a renowned stylist and event manager in Milan. You can find her on www.aliceinthebox.com .
The Cuban set prepared by NuBoyana film studios was an exceptional one and perfectly matched with the swimsuits signed by Ivanka Hristova and Radina’s Flowers from Bulgaria.
One by one, I witnessed the individual presentations of several designers in this Cuban set. Boryana Petrova brought her “The Biotrace” collection inspired by Tomboy style. Then followed the designer Mihaela Teleagă under the name of Catch Michelle, a surrealist brand and the collection presented at Balkan Fashion Week was based on a special concept with many symbols and references. Mihaela studied art and design in London, alongside Viviene Westwood at the Marangoni Institute, and then began a collaboration with the Romanian surrealist painter Mihai Criste.
Then followed the Bulgarian brand DiaCheli, founded in 1997 by the designer Marieta Apostolova. Her signature is easy to remember in the Bulgarian fashion world due to the way her clothes become a second skin for her, very comfortable and completing the character and the confidence of the woman.
Penelope Ralli from Greece came with a vaporous collection dedicated to the strong woman. The last entry featured CK Fashion Studio from Bulgaria that presented a contemporary vision of ready-to-wear fashion under the signature of former gymnast Tzveta Kuseva.
