Travel with me at… Nu Boyana Film Studios!

Everyone wants the perfect holiday destination. However, what do you think about a visit to Nu Boyana Film Studios in Sofia, Bulgaria? I find this brilliant to have the opportunity to visit such a studio, all the more as it is one of the most important film studios in Europe.

Before going any further and telling you about my visit here, I have to thank Yariv Lerner, CEO of Nu Boyana Film Studios and Alexandra Tzvetkova, PR Boyana Film Studios. For a movie lover, such a trip amongst the shooting sets is the equivalent of a dream come true.

For over 50 years, movies have been filmed here because of the passion and talent of those who love cinema. From production and post-production, any writer, screenwriter or producer can see their ideas brought to life. The human and technological resources of the Nu Boyana Film Studios are impressive.

Alexandra was the perfect guide through the immensity of these sets, but also to the costumes department or the garage with the cars they use for filming. As a fashion lover, the first visit was at the costume department. From the Stone Age to the Robots, here you will find absolutely everything you want from all periods of history. Neither is the car park neglected. Nu Boyana Film Studio garages are full with taxi cars from New York or London, police cars, firefighters and the list can continue.

Here you will find the largest water tank in Europe specially built to underwater filming and not only. I tell you honestly, this water tank is great, I have seen it!

The sets are impressive! This way you can travel from ancient Rome to St.Paul’s Cathedral in London. Within walking distance, you can find a typical New York street and then a London one. The examples are more, but for this, it is better for you to watch the video I made with Nu Boyana Film Studios.

The business card of such studios are the films they produced, and Nu Boyana Film Studios does not lack such a thing. While visiting the studios, Hellboy was filming (to be released in 2019). In addition to commercials, documentaries or TV programs many movies were made here. I can only remember: Angel has fallen, The Expendables 1, 2 and 3, The Black Dahlia, The Killing Season, The Rise of an Empire, The Hitman`s Bodyguard, London has fallen, 300, Conan, Universal Soldier: Regeneration, The Grunge 3, The Legend of Hercules and the list can continue.

Therefore, the visit to Nu Boyana Film Studios has been a great experience, and if you plan to visit Sofia, you should come to Nu Boyana Film Studios as well! Until then: “Visit Sofia! Visit Nu Boyana Film Studios! ”
